Series "The Flanigans", book #6 Restless Hearts
This is older book that I picked up at goodwill liking this author. Fiona Flanagan lost her mother at a young age and her father sent her into foster care when he could not care for her alone. Years later she goes to live with him when he remarries but life is not the same. She finds out that her mother came from an amish background and left the home she was raised in to marry her father. Now Fiona wants to go back to the area where many amish live and start her life as a midwife. Finding the relatives of her father and mother is not in her mind, so she says but soon finds family is important and wants to know more when the amish realize who she is.
Fiona meets a young lawman on her trip into town, there is an attraction almost immediately but they both know they must go slow and get to know one another. Ted left the amish years ago to become a lawman and he is sensitive to the amish in the town where he lives and when there is a group of mischief makers causing problems he is torn in his duty and his love for the amish families.
New Beginnings-forgiveness-Love and adventure all rolled into this book.
