Returning by Ann Tatlock

The ReturningThe Returning by Ann Tatlock

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a different type story then I usually read but still a good one. John had made many mistakes in his life, drinking was a big one that had a hold on him. One night he picked up a hiker while driving and very drunk and they had accident and the hiker died, making John to be charged with manslaughter and spend time in prison. This changed his life in many ways and that of his family. He had a son that was down syndrome child, and two daughters many years apart. When he returned from prison there were many obstacles to face. His wife loved him and tried to make this be a second chance but tho John did not drink now he still had a wandering eye where women were concerned and this still held him in its grip. The older children remembered him but the little one that had been baby did not know him at all and he spent much time trying to make amends with them. I was touched by his love and how he truly tried and though not sure about all things with God he still clung to a tiny hope that He could with Gods help make his life work now.

first book read by Ann Tatlock but am thinking I will read more of her.

Falling leaves in Ga

I love to take a walk outdoors in the fall and feel the leaves crunching under my feet. Feeling the cooler fall weather and if it is a breezy day as it is today, to feel cool air blowing around me is so nice. I like to take my walk and do a little talking to the man upstairs, it always clears my senses and helps my day be just a little brighter. I hope wherever you are you will take a few moments to "feel" what is going on in your life. It seems too often we let the busy-ness of the world confuse us and take our peace that HE wants us to have.

Christmas stories by Jillian Hart & Janet Tronstad

-"mail-order-christmas-brides"
My rating: <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/230569833%22%3E4 of 5 stars

I just love both of these authors in this book Mail Order Christmas Brides, Jillian Hart with "Her Christmas Family" is wonderful story of Felicity Sawyer going to be a bride of man she does not know, he has a little girl and she wants to be a mama. Tate is a rough man more to hide his true feelings then anything and it takes awhile for Felicity to understand this type of man. Jillian is good at showing us how both man and woman feel about their lives and what happens when they meet and must learn to compromise.

the second story was by Janet Tronstad and she always writes a good story about "Dry Creek" this one "Christmas Stars for Dry Creek" story about Eleanor McBride who knows that if she marries Sergeant Adam Martin she will get to be Hannah's Mama. Eleanor arrives and is met by a neigbor and taken to Adams cabin which is very crude, not much food or firewood, she has several days alone before Adam returns with his Mom and his daughter and she has some soul searching to do with this aloneness. she is a stubborn woman and will survive as she waits alone, she even catches some fish from the creek to eat as foodstuffs gets lean. When she meets the Sergent, he is so military like that she wonders if she will be able to love this man but meeting Hannah is all she expected and the little girl took to her right away, they became close. The Sergent's Mom though was another thing, she did not take to Elanor and thought the young woman was wrong for her son. It takes some time for these women to become friends and for a wedding to occur as a blizzard soon comes after all are together. You will like reading these stories.

Relentless by John Bevere ISBN 978-0-307-45775-2

I have just finished reading John Bevere's book "Relentless" and I am amazed.
John states that Christians are not meant to "Just get by". He says we should rule the earth. God gave mankind the earth to inhabit and rule. He gave us his abundant Grace and it is all we need to live lives abundantly.
I had never thought of some of the things that John tells us in his book. He gives scripture to back up things he talks about and some stories of his own life where he uses his God given Grace to get through some tough times.
I think every Christian should read this book and form their own opinion.

I am thankful that I was given this book by WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing group to review.

What an adorable little story by Cindy Woodsmall"The Christmas Singing" Two amish folks Gideon and Mattie grew up together and as they got older their friendship became even more special as they realized they loved one another and wanted to share their lives together for all time...then...Gideon did the unthinkable and told Mattie they must go their seperate ways and see other people.
She was devastated....so was he....but he never let anyone know Why...
will they find their way back to one another, will being apart bring them into so much more of a sweeter relationship if and when they do.
Read this story and feel the emotions.
I wanted to read further when I got to the end of this book. will there be a sequel Cindy?
